About Tin Tin Khine
Chef Tin Tin Khine is a distinguished figure in Burmese cuisine, known for her exceptional culinary skills and dedication to preserving the rich flavors of Myanmar. Her journey began in Myanmar, where she was deeply influenced by traditional Burmese cooking from an early age. This early exposure laid the foundation for her future career.
Chef Khine's professional career gained momentum at The Burman Kitchen in Granville, where she became renowned for her ability to deliver authentic Burmese dishes with high quality. Her success at The Burman Kitchen led to a significant milestone in June 2018, when she relocated to Surry Hills, bringing her cherished recipes to a new, modern venue while maintaining the authenticity of her cuisine.
Among her standout offerings is the zakor htamin, an impressive communal meal served on a bamboo platter, featuring miniature versions of traditional specialties such as pickled tea leaf salad, shauthee thote, Burmese-style rice balls, chicken curry, crunchy fried tofu, and grilled prawns. The menu also highlights dan pauk (Burmese biryani) with mango-pickle pork curry.
Currently, Chef Khine shares her passion for Burmese cuisine through Tin Tin Khine Home Cook, offering home-cooked meals every fortnight. This service allows patrons to experience the rich flavors of Burmese food from the comfort of their own homes, reflecting her commitment to culinary excellence and tradition.
